OTTO
OTTO is an earlier name of Otto Benson, a recording artist and musician from Brooklyn, New York, who now lives in Los Angeles. He first drew attention online as a teenager under the name Memo Boy. He studied at UMass Amherst and designs his own instruments, among them a stuffed-animal MIDI controller. In 2020 PLZ Make It Ruins released his work as OTTO. That run comprised the single "About You Now" with Max Beirne Shafer, the World Greetings EP, the singles "Dairy Adventure" and "Chlorine", and the album Clam Day. The label then issued the Memo Boy archive Songs & Demos 2015-2017 in 2021.
Since 2021 he has released music under his own name, Otto Benson, mostly through his own imprint wnoadiarwb. Those releases include Songs Before Bed (2022), Bobbery (2023) and Hobbys with Mietze Conte (2024). Peanut, his first album led by his own voice, came out digitally on 31 December 2025, followed by cassette and LP on Palto Flats. He has played bass for Porches on a North American tour. He is booked by Ground Control.
